Del Martin had fought all her life for the equality of the gay community. She was a pioneer, starting in the 1950′s to champion the rights of gays as normal people. Her efforts to legalize marriage have directly impacted my life by bringing the joy and respect that only a marriage could imbue to the loving commitment my closest and dearest friends have made to each other. I hope she will be remembered fondly for her consistent bravery and tireless efforts.
If we let it work. Terrorism is just a fear tactic. We all have the choice to let anti-social behavior like violence or the possible threats of violence shape our lives. It is just my opinion that Freedom should never be deterred by the threat of violence.
So it is not surprising that some small minded people would try to kill Obama in hopes to change the political landscape. But I am not sure what it says about our country that home grown extremists would try to kill Obama. I mean anyone who has been here or even in the world has to feel the level of harm that Bush has already inflicted upon us. It will take decades to recover from his administration’s policies. Though as much as I dislike the Bush administration and am counting the hours till his stint in office ends, I am proud that no American has tried to take his life (short of maybe Robert Pickett though he was a loon just shooting at the white house with a pistol while bush was in office).
But the most interesting thing is that the Bush administration has continually used fear, like terrorists, to manipulate Americans and further their political and personal agendas. Shame on you!
I had the pleasure of meeting my parents dogs on my vacation to Maine.
On the left is Charlie a King Charles Spaniel (the center is Mumoo, my cow) and on the right is Little Bear, a Pomeranian. They are both about 1 1/2 years old here.
They are the so unbelievably sweet and playful.

I found that Lil’ bear was especially tasty.
Little Bear was very sick as a pup. My parents nursed him to health and he had a great vigor to him. Very playful and affectionate. But this past Saturday night, Little Bear died suddenly. It broke my parents hearts.
I know he had a great life and lived longer than he would have if my parents did not take him home but it is still very sad for such a young dog to pass on so quickly.
First off, save yourself the hassle and do not buy a Zune. If you want to buy one, I have a new one for sale. I did finally get my Zune working (mostly) before my trip but did not have time to put all my music on it. What can I say, in my calmest of moments the Zune has maybe 2 stars. Frankly the device is pretty slick but it looses all it’s points due to it’s unwieldy software and lack of detailed instructions.
But you are likely reading this because you believed the hype like me and bought one and now it just does not work…
This is how I fixed the Zune Error C00D11CD but is works for many software issues with the Zune.
1. Disconnect your Zune from the computer.
2. Remove the Zune Software from your computer Make sure to follow every step: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929358 *
*Note if you don’t want to do that there is a lovely app called UnZoone.
3. Reset your Zune Push and hold the Back Button and the Up Button like this:
The most important thing to know about Zune is that the software is unwieldy. It will hang while performing operations and sometimes just freeze up. It sucks as a media manager due to a lack of granularity in it’s controls. I can’t find any detailed manuals on how to control the sync operations so it is making me do a lot of research and testing to make it go.
In the future you may find that the software still won’t see the Zune even though your computer does. What I found is that you’ll need to start the Zune software first then it will recognize the device. Occasionally you will need to reboot your Zune to make enable it to be seen by the software.

I went to a play tonight. As always the theater staff announces “please take this time to turn off all phones and electronics. And all recording is prohibited”. It is amazing to think how much I am part of the documentation movement that has to twit details of my life and photo graph what I eat. I sometimes feel like it would not be real if I did not share it digitally.< I definitely was not always this way. Quite the opposite. I hated taking photos unless it was for artistic purposes and I definitely preferred privacy over any publication of my experiences. Stepping out from behind the camera, not recording the moment but truly experiencing the live performance is a refreshing change. And it was easy to do with this play.
I saw Thurgood tonight; a one-man play about the life of Thurgood Marshall. Lawrence Fishburne‘s performance as Thurgood was fabulous. I was completely captivated and he nearly brought me to tears as he lead me (and the rest of the audience) through the life of a man who became a civil right pioneer. When this play travels, don’t wait to see it.The story of the Thurgood Marshall is one that should not go unheard. Please take the time to go see this eloquent performance and learn more about Thurgood’s positive contribution to our country.
